About this Project
8th grade students at Oskaloosa Middle School, Oskaloosa, Iowa, USA are given the opportunity to hone their technology skills by taking a fast-paced, rigorous course entitled 21st Century Technology Skills. The purpose of the class is to introduce students to a variety of web-based tools that they can use to help them become successful learners in the 21st Century. While there is no way we could possibly cover every tool available, students are exposed to different types of tools that will help them communicate information and ideas through a variety of avenues. This project is just a small piece of this multifaceted course.
To begin the project students were asked to brainstorm a list of events and people that helped shaped the United States of America into the great nation it is today. After compiling the list, each student selected a topic that he/she could research using Google Document and Google Research tools. After thoroughly researching their topics, students were then asked to create a page within this website to cover the details of their person or event.. The page links to the left are the results of their efforts.
If you would like more information about the project or would like to inquire about the course itself, please feel free to contact Mrs. Deb DeJong through the "Contact Us" page.
